Q: What do you charge?
A: Scalers (Sickles/Curettes), Explorers, and Excavators/Carvers are $1 per end. Elevators and Periosteal Elevators are $3 per end.
Q: What is your turn around time?
A: My goal is to complete the instruments same day as arrival or next day. This lowers the turn around around time so instruments are returned faster. It's all up to the chosen carrier service to get them back to you just as quickly!
Q: How do I mail in my instruments?
A: You ship in a well-padded box, along with the necessary order form and service agreement (if first time establishing services). Instruments are returned to you in the same box, and return shipping is added to invoice. Payment is due prior to return shipping.
Q: Do the instruments need to be sterilized before sending out?
A: Yes, for everyone's safety, instruments must be pouched and sterilized according to OSHA regulations prior to being sent out. The pouch must indicate sterilization took place. Instruments will also need to be sterilized by your office when returned.
Q: Is onsite sharpening available?
A: Yes! All of Lake County, IL; Northern Cook County, IL; Eastern McHenry County, IL; and Southern Kenosha County, WI are available for on-site sharpening service. ***Some areas require additional fee for travel.
Q: Do you offer re-tipping?
A: Sorry, re-tipping is not available, nor is recommended.
Q: What brands of dental hygiene instruments do you sharpen?
A: We sharpen all brands of scalers and curettes.
Q: When do I pay for services?
A: Instruments will not be mailed out until payment has been made. In person delivery will be done with either payment at delivery or prior to delivery. Onsite sharpening will be required to pay on the spot.
